Recipient of the first call for proposals in the FIRST TEAM FENG program

The Foundation for Polish Science announces the results of the first call for proposals (1/2023) under the FIRST TEAM action funded by the European Funds for the Modern Economy (FENG) program. A total of over 101 million PLN will be awarded to 27 projects, including 2 projects from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw.

One of the winners in the first call for proposals in the FIRST TEAM FENG action from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw was:

Dr. hab. Wiktor Lewandowski, professor;
Project title: “Bi-chiral sources of circularly polarized light (BCP-LED)”,

The FIRST TEAM action provides funding to establish research teams and conduct innovative research in Poland with potential applications.

A total of 202 projects from 68 research organizations were submitted for the first call. Funding totaling 101,361,052 PLN was awarded to 27 projects (success rate: 13.36%).

Projects were selected through a two-stage competition. After a formal review, the proposals were subjected to a substantive evaluation by experts in their respective fields.

Funding for a single project does not exceed 4 million PLN. These funds will help build new research teams composed of young scientists, doctoral students, and students selected through an open competition, and will also enable the purchase of equipment necessary for project implementation. The awarded projects cover various scientific fields and are focused on innovative scientific research with potential applications. They will mostly be conducted at universities and Polish Academy of Sciences units, but also at technical universities and other research organizations. Each project is planned to collaborate with an international scientific partner and a national business partner, with financial support provided solely to the applying Polish research organization.

Congratulations!
